Question by 4 Billion Crackers: Game Maker or XNA Game Studio?
I’m making a platform video game similar to the Spyro games. I am new to video game making and was wondering which software was a better choice; Game Maker or XNA Game Studio. I was also wondering if Game Maker would allow me to make my game for consoles (Playstation, Xbox) other than PC.

Answer by brandonqd92Game Maker is a lot easier to use, but can still create very powerful games. I have a few examples of GM (Game Maker) games on my website:

GM doesn’t allow you to make portable or console games, but it’s working on platforms for linux and mac (has GM8 for windows).
